How Five9 Partnerships Help Create Equity
Supporting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is about more than just highlighting various communities and donating to charity funds. A true commitment to supporting DE&I is finding ways to embed DE&I initiatives in every part of your company's business and environment. At Five9, a diverse and inclusive culture helps us achieve our mission of revolutionizing the contact center and bringing home the human experience. In January we had the opportunity to support DE&I from a partner perspective by participating in Scansource - Intelisys Diversity Partner Program, IDPP.
The “Diversity Partner Program (DPP) identifies, learns from and supports Partner businesses owned by Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and contributes to their long-term success.” By participating in Intelisys’ program Five9’s Kelli McMillan, Director of Global Partners, and I had the opportunity to present our partner program to Intelisys DPP program community. Benefits of our partner portal such as our Partner Sales Certification, now known as Five9 University for Partners, campaigns in a box, CX Marketplace, and sales training tools are a few key features we presented to the DPP community. The program’s community features fifteen unique BIPOC owned Partner businesses, in which four of these partners we have generated recent sales opportunities with.
During our time with the DPP community we also shared about Five9’s Employee Resource Groups, ERGs, which are voluntary, employee-led groups made up of individuals who join together based on common interests, backgrounds or demographic factors such as gender, race, or ethnicity. These ERGs include APIDA, BlatinX, Five9 Faith, Dialed in Crew, Pride @ Five9, and FIve9 WIT. Our ERG’s help our employees not only feel empowered to bring their most authentic self to work but also gives us a chance to align with our partners and customers with similar initiatives and goals. Our Employee Resource Groups foster diversity and inclusion, promote professional development, and support social responsibility.
Outside of dedicated meetings with participating technology suppliers, the DPP program also offers their community education and development. “Assistance and guidance around financial support, marketing, business operations, business networking and relationship building serve as the foundations of the Program.” Meetings with industry experts like Anthony Palmucci also known as “Coach T” gives DPP participants the chance to learn how top partners are growing at an exponential pace. Opportunities like these help Intelisys reach their three main goals:
Accelerate the growth of businesses owned by the Sales Partners of the Black, Indigenous and People of Color community
Attract more Sales Partners from all backgrounds to the cloud and technology services ecosystem
Bring more participation from Suppliers in this program to help encourage more diversity in the channel
Intelisys strives “to inspire and revolutionize our industry by providing business resources and opportunities not often seen for Sales Partners that are specifically in underrepresented groups.” Five9 is honored to work with Technology Solution Distributors who are finding new and innovative ways to elevate our industry.
