Five9’s 10-year IPO Anniversary: A Journey of Growth and Innovation

Today marks a major milestone as we celebrate Five9’s 10-year anniversary as a publicly-traded company. This occasion is made more significant by the remarkable growth and impact we’ve achieved as a team over the last decade. 

I had the honor of ringing the bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite exactly 10 years ago at our IPO. It’s an honor to ring the bell again on our 10-year anniversary – a proud and pivotal moment as I reflect on how far we’ve come.  

When I joined Five9 as a startup 16 years ago, we had less than 100 employees and about $10 million in revenue. Today, we are an industry-leading public company with close to 3,000 employees around the world and poised to surpass $1 billion in revenues this year. 

Becoming a public company was a big undertaking that spoke volumes about our innovative products, the dedication and quality of our team, and the culture that we have built within Five9. That culture exhibits a ONE TEAM mentality; it’s all about aligning, executing, and winning as ONE TEAM.  

I’ve always believed that business is the ultimate team sport. To win “season after season,” we need top talent, the right strategy/playbook, and the right team chemistry/culture. I’m proud to say that we’ve hit the mark in all areas.  

Since our IPO, Five9ers have proven that going public was not the destination but just another stop in our incredible journey to help companies bring joy to their customer experience. Over the last ten years, we have continued to advance this vision, accelerated by many important initiatives, all while staying true to our core values.   

From the beginning, Five9 has been an innovator, focused on delivering CX in the cloud and disrupting the market by replacing legacy on-premises contact center systems. Today, we continue to change the game for some of the largest brands in the world with the latest AI technologies and a data-driven Intelligent CX Platform combined with our passionate experts.  

While I am extremely proud of the significant scale and growth we’ve achieved, we’re only getting started. As we celebrate this milestone and set our sights on the future, we’re fully committed and ready to tackle the massive opportunities ahead.
