Five9 Interns Bring Joy to the Community with Habitat for Humanity

To celebrate National Intern Day and spread Five9 Joy to our community, our summer interns participated in our second annual philanthropy event with Habitat for Humanity! Through this event, our interns expanded the influence of the impactful work they complete at Five9 to the greater community. 

Habitat for Humanity’s Playhouse Program is a volunteer program that donates one-of-a-kind playhouses to local nonprofits and families. All funds raised through the program allow Habitat for Humanity to carry out their mission of building affordable homes and communities of hope. 

The interns, accompanied by their manager, a team member, or their mentor, were broken into teams to build 3 playhouses, each with a unique theme. The themes of this year’s playhouses were Farmer’s Market, Music, and Under the Sea. Within each team, the group evaluated their skills and determined their carpenters, roofers, and designers. The nature of this hands-on event allows the interns to build relationships, flex their creative muscles, and expand their skillsets.

The Five9 Talent Acquisition Team hosts this event to boost morale, provide networking opportunities, and contribute to Five9’s positive impact on the greater community. The event also reinforces the three core pillars of our intern program: Learn, Contribute, and Grow.

Once the playhouses were complete, all participants expressed a great sense of pride in their work. They shared how incredible it was to see the playhouses progress from unconnected pieces to complete, strong, and joyful structures. They knew these playhouses would be magical spaces for children to play in for years to come.
