Five9 Empowers Women with the Alliance of Channel Women

Today is International Women’s Day and it felt fitting to celebrate the partnership between Five9 and the Alliance of Channel Women. As a woman working in technology, I believe that diversity and inclusion are essential ingredients for innovation. By bringing different perspectives and experiences to the table, we can create solutions that truly meet the needs of all users and drive positive change in our communities.

International Women's Day is observed worldwide to celebrate the accomplishments of women across various domains including social, economic, cultural, and political. It serves as an important reminder each year about the strides made toward gender equality and equity, and the need to continue this work to create environments and opportunities where women are seen and heard, valued, and rewarded. In 2024, ACW’s theme is "Inspire Inclusion" which will promote diversity and empowerment in all facets of society.  

As a partner and sponsor of ACW, Five9 is proud to support ACW’s initiatives aimed at advancing women and their allies’ representation and leadership in the channel. Through our partnership, we'll have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other like-minded women and gain insight into industry best practices. This is especially important for industries like ours and tech overall. Encouraging and supporting every employee is an important part of any company’s success and an idea that Five9’s leadership is committed to for the long term.

For example, Five9 has 350+ members in its Women in Technology (WIT) Employee Resource Group, and its mission is to advance the women of Five9 through a variety of support, leadership development, education, networking, and mentoring opportunities to keep Five9 a place where women can thrive in tech. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing women, particularly during my time at Five9. Our company culture is widely recognized as positive and empowering, and a significant reason for that is due to how everyone is respected and valued. I have felt this sense of appreciation very strongly during my three-plus years with Five9.

I’ll end with a great quote from ACW’s President Mayka Rosales-Peterson, who said to me recently: “Diversity is more than just a buzzword; it's our greatest asset. By embracing women's different perspectives and talents in the IT channel, we ignite innovation, propel growth, and pave the way for a brighter channel.”     

We’re excited for our growing partnership with ACW and our overall long-standing commitment to every Five9 team member to be a company that demonstrates diverse leadership and contributions. This is just the start!
